From Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle, take the D465 towards the Ballon d'Alsace, then at the equestrian center, take the Chemin des Paltons. After 40 minutes of gentle uphill walking, you will arrive at the Chalet Spiler.
Very comfortable refuge. When it's -2°C outside, the indoor space heats up very quickly and you soon take off your sweater. 10/12 seated places at the table. A comfortable double armchair in good condition. A hatchet with a blunt blade on site. The stove does not smoke. Three windows make the single room bright. A kettle. Plenty of newspaper. A broom. No nearby fountain but a stream not far away (the Goutte du Rieux, it seems).
