Part of the cabin is closed, but the open part is relatively comfortable with a table, bench and stove. Unlike nearby forest shelters, this refuge has a door and is in very good condition. The refuge is located within the perimeter of the Grand Ventron Massif National Nature Reserve. As such, overnight stays are prohibited. Article 20 of Decree No. 89-331 of May 22, 1989: "Camping, in a tent, in a vehicle or in any other shelter is prohibited". This regulation also applies to the chalets of Wintergès, des Blancs Murgers (side 88), des Pionniers, and des Bockloch (side 68).
