Located slightly west of the Dosdè pass. From the north, a trail starts from Val Viola at point 2160 m (Swisstopo), passes through the Dosdè alpine pasture and climbs up moraine slopes to the pass. From the south, it starts from Alpe Avedo in the Val Grosina, ascending the entire valley via Lago di Tres and then Lago Nero, up to the pass (longer, greater elevation gain).
Hut that fell into near ruin, restored in the 1980s. No wood available at this altitude, so no stove or chimney. For water, stock up in mid-summer, except for late snowfields... but you will need to melt snow. However, it has good insulation. There used to be a gas stove twenty years ago, which is not guaranteed today. Base for the Cima Viola-Saoseo group.
