From France: From the [->1305], cross the Col d'Ischiator (2929m), a good scree area with persistent snow late in the season, no marked trail, follow the cairns. Estimated time: 4-5 hours. From Italy: Descending from the Col de Larche on the Italian side, at Pianche turn right towards the villages of Bagni di Vinadio then Besmorello, located at the entrance of the Ischiator valley. Parking at the entrance of Besmorello (you can go a bit further to the "Ponte del Medico" at 1544m). Possibility of resupply in Bagni. Estimated time: 1h45-2h
WARNING: this hut does not prepare meals, meals are only prepared upon reservation for GTA and Via Alpina hikers. Large dormitory area with a fully equipped communal kitchen. Summer opening: from 1 June to 30 September. Weekend winter opening: from 1 March to 31 May and from 1 October to 15 November. Hut closure (winter room open): from 16 November to end of February and by reservation during other periods. During unguarded periods: winter room with 6 places, mattresses and blankets, table, and a very efficient stove (bring tools to cut wood. Wood available). Good insulation (down to -7°C outside, nearly 20°C inside with the stove on full blast). Drinkable water from a fountain near the hut. Equipped climbing routes below the hut (maximum grade 5c). Services: electricity (photovoltaic panels), mattresses, pillows and blankets (sleeping bag liner mandatory), BAR service, paid hot shower, library, internet access.
