From Aosta, take a bus via Valsavarenche to Pont (do not confuse with Pont Canavese!). Take a path (no. 12) that rises quickly behind the grocery store, then 600m of elevation gain and a magnificent 5km valley.
Hotel limit: it can be reached by car, private rooms with showers, ... but located over 2500m at the crossroads of several important trails, a pleasant stop for your trips in the Parco del Gran Paradiso. A good alternative to Rifugio Cità di Chivasso, located 1km further south, where hikers met on the trail were not very satisfied.
