From the Col de Nivollet: either follow the unfinished road for several km until the junction with trail no. 3A, then descend to the right; or follow the valley bottom trail no. 3, then turn left just before the place known as Croix de l'Aroley. From Le Breuil / Le Pont (Valsavarenche): trail 3A.
The shortcut (unfinished road - Valsavarenche) shown on the Refuges info map was closed. Although not maintained, several buildings can still serve as a basic shelter.
