Via La Thuile. A small road climbs to the hamlet of La Joux at 1650 m (limited parking spaces! be careful during peak season), passing through Villaret and Promise. A mule track starts on the left (signpost) and descends slightly to cross the stream towards its right bank, which you will follow until the end. You pass, in turns of switchbacks and small hollows, terraces, etc., successively two waterfalls, the Glacier Lake, the Bella Comba alpine pasture,... until the depression where the hut nestles, visible only at the last moment. From La Thuile, 1000 m of elevation gain, 900 m from La Joux; in this case, it means 4 good hours (signposts indicate 2h50 from La Joux...: in trainers, carrying just a wash bag). Note that during the season (August), SAVDA buses serve the La Thuile - La Joux section.
Beautiful location near a series of glacial lakes. You can check the hut's website (in Italian) for the latest information (opening dates, etc.). Note that there are 20 places available in winter.
