From Arp Nouva Desot at the end of the road in the Val Ferret, 2h30 via an equipped trail towards the Monts Rouges de Triolet where the refuge is built. Difficulty EE, 815 m of ascent. Leaving Arp Nouva Dèsot (1770 m) along the road extension, stay on the drivable path (which leads to the Bar Dèsot meadow and to [->8844]) in the valley bottom, leaving the Tour du Mont-Blanc trail to the right. At the first hairpin bend of the track, leave it by continuing straight ahead to cross the Doire de Ferret via a footbridge. The trail enters the moraine on the left bank of the Triolet glacier, leaving the right bank of the Pré de Bard glacier on the right. At the end of the moraine, the trail goes over rocks, some of which are crossed using the [->10675]. The refuge is then quickly reached. To reach the glacier, go past the refuge to reach the left-bank moraine, which offers views of the glacier and its lakes. You can climb it to its end at about 2800 m altitude.
Refuge built in 1880, rebuilt in 1932, expanded in the 1980s and renovated in 2003. Staffed from late June to mid-September. Equipped winter room. 32 bunk beds in summer, 16 in winter. Mattresses, sheets, duvets and pillows provided. Catering on site. Languages spoken: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish.
