The building is located exactly at the Col Valdobbia. Access is possible either from the east (Riva Valdobbia) or from the west (Ondro Verdebio - Gressoney). In both cases, a convenient trail leads to the Col Valdobbia, with an elevation gain of between 1100 and 1300 metres. According to maps, toponymic variants in the Walser language, a German dialect from the Valais, are used on both sides.
Staffed from mid-June to mid-September. There is no winter room. The hut was built after a disaster in 1820 at the initiative of Canon Nicolas Sottile and has since been expanded several times. Showers are available. Self-service kitchen is not permitted. Half-board and full-board rates are available on the hut's website along with contact details.
