Refuge de Colomina

The Colomina refuge is a guarded refuge located in the Pallars Jussà, in the Vall Fosca, on the southern shore of Estany de Colomina. It is managed by the Federació d'Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya FEEC.

Access

This refuge is in the Parc Nacional d’Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici (in the peripheral part), as it is a bit long to say we shorten it to the Encantats (referring to the 2 magnificent needles that dominate the beautiful Sant Maurici Lake). Access from Cabdella, Vall Fosca: Drive up to the Embassade de Sallente. From the dam, head east to Estany Gento, in summer this lake is accessible by cable car, then continue north to Estany de Colomina, the refuge stands on its southern shore. From the Josep Maria refuge: Climb southwest to Collada de Saburo, between Tuc de Saburo 2912m and Pic de la Mainera 2906. Descend southwest, pass between the 2 large Estany de Saburo and Mar via the Pas de l'Os, reach the refuge by going around Estany de Colomina on one side or the other, in this region, as there is as much water as land, you spend your time going around large lakes, all bigger and more beautiful than the others!!! From the Ernest Mallafré refuge: Via: - Coll de Peguera south of the Ernest Mallafré refuge then continue descending south to Estany de Saburo, then Mar, then Colomina, then the refuge! - Portarro d'Espot, then Coll deth Gavatxos via a western path, after a magnificent string of lakes, including Estany Tort (2km long...); upon reaching the southern end of Lac Tort, do not descend to Estany Gento but head due east to reach the refuge on the shore of another lake... The Carros de Foc circuit passes through this refuge.
