Val de Cardos: Catalonia, Val de Cardos, Tavascan, take the track straight to the terminus at Presa de Montalto, parking at the terminus is the starting point for the ascent to the cabin: Follow the path of [->5361], accessible just before Pla de Boavi, a red and white marked path that goes up to the left before [->5283]. Higher up, there is a variant marked only in red, which is steeper and passes near a beautiful waterfall. This path reaches a plateau at the edge of the forest: Pleta de Tornapigol. The cabin is on the left after the path turns northwest.
Solid open cabin. Good insulation. Equipment: floor, 1 bench, interior not very clean (presence of some rubbish). Firewood can be found in the surrounding area further down (for heating outside the cabin). This cabin can serve as an emergency shelter on the route to the Certascan refuge.
