From Turtmann (Rhône valley), take the postal bus to Gruben. In Gruben (1819 m), a road on the left bank leads to the lake; 1 km after the village, a trail descending towards the torrent crosses it on a bridge (2055 m.). Once on the right bank, the trail follows the lateral moraine of the Turtmanngletscher. It crosses the Pipjibach and reaches a rocky promontory where the hut is located. From Gruben approximately 3h30. In winter: 1) St-Luc - Tignousa - Bella Tola - Borterpass - Meidtälli - Vorder Sänntum - P.2191 (WS, 5h from Bella Tola) 2) St-Luc - Hotel Weisshorn - Tsa du Toùno - Forcletta or L'Omèn Roso - P.2191 (WS, 5h30 from Hotel Weisshorn) 3) Jungu - Jungtaljoch - Pipjilicke (ZS, 6h).
Stone-built cabin constructed in 1926 with standard equipment. It remains open all year round with guardianship from the first weekend of June to the third weekend of September and from the fourth weekend of March to the first weekend of May; other periods: contact the guardian. Possibility to cook in the presence of the guardian for a fee of 6 francs. Payment possible via mobile phone through Postfinance. Outside guardianship periods, winter room with 14 places, possibility to cook and lighting provided. Emergency radiotelephone available even though the hut is within Swisscom network coverage.
