Start of the trail about 800 m upstream, once past the few houses of Le Serret. The track heads northwest, reaches a ridge at about 2060 m, winds along it, then heads sharply east to the hut. Allow 2h / 2h30.
This hut, enlarged and modernised, replaced the old wooden "Jean Coste" cabin, which may still be found nearby. Base for exploring the entire Chambeyron massif (Brec and Aiguille), including its extensions towards Italy and the southern part of the border chain.
