In summer, from the bend at 1750m on the road leading up to the Col de Pailhères from Mijanès, head straight south towards a small lake, go around it to the left, cross a heathland covered with tall heather, continue straight south for 300m, the cabin is just before reaching the stream. It is particularly useful in winter when the pass is closed: access from the Mijanés resort: head due west, passing between the ski runs and the road, and climb the valley for 2km. The cabin is on a small hill when the valley widens. Good starting point for snowshoeing to the Tarbésou.
4 places on a bunk bed. 1 table. 1 corner fireplace. 3 foam floor mats. 2 pots on site. 1 BBQ grill. Not impressive and quite busy (due to proximity to the road) but very healthy and perfectly usable. A small stream flows all year round nearby (to be treated as there is livestock!). Wood at 500m on flat ground.
