From the Peyre car park (road terminus towards the cirque de Cagateille), take the trail that descends 25 m to cross a footbridge towards the étang d'Arlet. It is marked in yellow throughout the ascent. After 400 m of climbing, we pass the old mines. We then climb another 400 m rapidly. After a grassy pond, we arrive in a valley (1760 m). Leave the yellow markings to follow red ones ascending the valley by the bottom, then leaving it to go left. We then arrive at the hut at 2003 m.
Very nice hut renovated in 2007. Moss, blankets, stools for 6 on site. There is a wood stove, a paraffin stove and a paraffin lamp on site. On the way up, 1 h 15 before the hut, we leave the last wooded area. A sign reminds you to bring wood (there is absolutely nothing at the top). The same goes for paraffin; you need to bring what you will consume. Insulation is average, walls are lined with newspapers. A lake is located 50 m from the hut, right next to it.
