Starting from Freydières, take the drivable path south straight ahead for about 3.5 km. The cabin is along the path, on the left when going uphill. It cannot be missed. A forest section marker (white/red/white) marks the start of the small trail leading to the shelter.
A mattress, cooking pots and even a mirror are available. The place is clean and full of charm, ideal for a romantic night. A spring is located along the trail at the start of the Grand-Colon. Inventory: table, two benches + two fixed bench-chests, two stools. A broom is present. No heating. Poor insulation, frequent drafts. Two blankets are hung on the alcove rod, which has a curtain to reduce drafts. Use is not recommended in winter, except in case of emergency or with polar equipment.
