Multiple access routes: == From the [->1483] == Option 1: Climb towards the ridge leading to the small arc, first due south then a path descending southwest. Option 2: Descend towards Champeney, a southwest-facing path along the 1800m contour line starting southwest to reach the Platière. == From the Bonvillard/Champeney parking lot facing northwest == From Bonvillard, a road leads up to Champeney, where cars are left. The rest is on a forest track heading northwest, without difficulties. == From the southwest face and the [->5109] == By car, pass through Aiguebelle, then Randens, then climb to Monfort, then a drivable track towards the [->5109]. Follow a forest track roughly along the slope for 1 km to reach the [->1596]. There are several tracks and paths in the area; it is easy to get lost. The last 300 meters through forest and scree are slightly difficult to follow (no markings) but pose no technical difficulties.
Non-guarded refuge including: 08/2025: - Table (~8 seats) - Large wood-burning stove, very fuel-consuming, with 1 cooking spot (or 2 small ones). - 1 bunk bed + a 6-place loft with 4 mattresses + 4 ground mats (in a storage box) - 1 saw in very poor condition - 1 broom - Cutlery in quantity - Various-sized plates in quantity - Pots and pans in good condition - Blankets in quantity stored in tubes 40cm in diameter and 60cm high on the upper floor - Dish soap, sponges, various tools The [->8587] generally flows well. Sleeping arrangements: 6 places on the loft and a double sleeping bench on the ground floor. Dry toilets since 2019. Mobile network: good signal just outside the cabin (Orange, SFR, Free), reception inside is slightly weaker (Orange).
