From the Plan Lachat parking lot south of Valloire, walk up a track or a path on its left leading to the military camp of Rochilles. The hut is clearly marked (« refuge » written in large letters on the door) in one of the northernmost buildings.
Inside, there is only one room: - 2x2 bunk beds + 2x1 single beds but only 5 mattresses. - No blankets. - 2 tables, 3 stools, 3 chairs. No stove or fireplace. 2 brooms. Nearby water source (unreliable flow, do not rely on it), located near the newly built small house, towards the stream bed, not easily visible. In winter, the track between the Rochilles camp (hut) and the Rochilles pass is sometimes groomed by a tracked vehicle! Hut « managed » by the 93rd RAM (mountain artillery regiment) and the 2nd REG (Foreign Engineering Regiment). Hut renovated in 2019: access door replaced, window repaired, ceiling carpentry renovated, and a coat of paint.
