Off-trail. From the refuge des Drayères, go up the valley towards the Lau. Route suitable for ski touring in winter.
Small cabin used as a reserve by local shepherds (salt for sheep, for example). Shelter unusable due to its size and storage function, even if the door is not locked. There is salt everywhere. A few streams nearby (water to be treated). The place remains wild, with a beautiful view, suitable for bivouacking, and away from the traditional path that goes up the valley on the opposite side, often very busy in season. There is a vague trail that allows you to climb to the foot of the Crêtes de la Madeleine, then continue to the lakes of the Madeleine and climb a little above the col des Muandes and thus reach the ridge of the Roche du Chardonnet and continue to the Thabor. From the lakes of the Madeleine, it is also possible to reach the Col de Névache to join Valmeinier (ski touring).
