From Vecoux: take the direction of Chaudefontaine but before reaching it, turn right towards Pré Noël but again, before reaching it (it will be on the left) continue by turning sharply right. You will arrive at the 643-meter mark below the Cucherons. Up to that point the path was paved. There, a Vosges Club sign will indicate the direction towards an orientation table, placed on a tumulus, 15 minutes away. I parked there. A little before, on the right, there is a calvary at the edge of a red ring path (meaning a circuit of less than 3 hours). This path leads to the chalet de la roulotte, then de la charmotte. Upon reaching la charmotte I left this path to take the green ring circuit which took me past Roche Jaugeon. This way of accessing it is of course not exclusive.
Cabin in good condition. It features: A table with two benches, seating about 8 people. A wood-burning stove (feuille type). Two BBQ grills. Outside, a bench along the path. The map indicates a nearby spring: "la Salmade". Warning: this chalet is on the edge of the biological reserve of the tourbière des charmes.
