The Dortoir Alpe Baravez Damon (Baravex) is a public mountain hostel located in Allein, in the Valle d'Aosta. It is open upon prior request.

Access

Starting from the village of Allein at 1200 m above sea level (Etroubles valley, on the Grand St Bernard road), an unpaved track goes straight north (though with some switchbacks) up to this former intermediate summer pasture building, renovated in 2005 to become a hikers' shelter. The route is signposted from Allein.

THIS SHELTER IS NORMALLY LOCKED AND YOU MUST CALL AND GO TO THE ALLEIN TOWN HALL TO GET THE KEY.
