The Engorgs refuge "Joaquim Folch i Girona" is an unguarded hut located in the Engorgs cirque, on the southwest slope of Puigpedrós. It is managed by the Federació d'Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya and belongs to the public domain.

The refuge is located in the Engorgs cirque, on the southwest slope of Puigpedrós, on the route to Portella d'Engorgs, to cross from Catalonia into Andorra. From the Llossa valley and the [->5428]: Head due east towards Portella d'Engorgs, cross the Portella and descend to the refuge (marked path in red and white, on the GR11). From Porta: Park on the other side of the railway track (small car park), take the path to Portella Blanca d'Andorra, after Estany Gros, turn south to climb to Portella Blanca de Meranges (scree) and descend very easily to the refuge, always heading south (you will need to cross the stream), descend in sight. From Meranges: You can drive to a car park above Girul, at the first hairpin bend of the road, then follow the track that leads to the Malniu refuge by road (paying terminal car park). A path, initially on the left bank of the stream, leads to the Pleta d'Engorgs, cross the stream on two fallen trunks acting as a bridge and continue "easily" on the right bank up to the refuge. From the Malniu refuge: Take the GR11 due west, which follows a magnificent balcony path, initially almost horizontal, before undulating to reach the refuge, which you reach after crossing the stream, where you can ... depending on the water level!
Indoor equipment: - 1 table - 1 bench - 6 stools - 12 places on 3 wooden platforms - 3 spare mattresses to place on the slabs - Blankets available (average cleanliness) - A few pillows (very poor cleanliness) Warning: - Presence of mice (the door lets them in easily ...) Water: - Apart from the stream water, there is water 5 minutes above the refuge when heading towards Portella d'Engorgs, on the first plateau, sources on the left.
