From the Appy pond parking lot, follow the marked trail towards the pond. Pass under the two high-voltage lines. At around 1250m, at the edge of a small wood, turn left and leave the trail to climb onto the ridge. The ridge leads to the hut at 1500m.
New pastoral hut (2017). Hut open in winter (even though there is a very good lock). No heating system, but the insulation is excellent. Only one sleeping place (low bunk), it is not possible to fit two people inside. There is a gas stove in the hut.
