Climb to the Glières plateau. Upon arrival on the Glières plateau, take the first road on the right, direction Dran, then at the bottom of the descent, turn right again onto a drivable path that crosses a footbridge. Follow it until the parking lot marking the end. Just before this parking lot, a sign indicates the path leading to Ablon in less than an hour on foot. Vehicles are prohibited on the Ablon track. Access possible from Balme-de-Thuy via the Pertuis pass or from Blonnière (Dingy-Saint-Clair) via the Pertuis pass.
Alpine farm in operation with cows and pigs. Open when the farmer is in summer pasture from June to October. 40 beds in a dormitory and additional rooms in the barn. Sleeping bag liner or sleeping bag required. Blankets provided. Bring a lamp as there is no light in the barn. Sanitary facilities with washbasins, showers and toilets. Dining room with 50 seats. Terrace. Meals, drinks. Cash payment only, no credit cards. As the farm is in operation, the hut is not suitable for late risers as activity starts at 5 AM. Tasting of locally produced cheeses (tomme, reblochon). Languages spoken: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish.
