Access

For access, many options are available (at least in summer): from L'Anglettaz, from Villaz via Grand or Petit Montoir, from La Blonnière via Col du Pertuis, from Ablon via Croix du Bénitier, etc. Caution: in winter, prefer access via the chalet of L'Anglettaz (or possibly via the chalets of Chappeys) to avoid the very dangerous avalanche couloirs of [->7704]. Furthermore, during this season, the forest roads of L'Anglette and Chappuis are closed to traffic (thaw barrier from the first snow until April or May depending on conditions). It is not recommended to cross the plateau in winter when it is covered with snow, especially if you are not familiar with the area. There have been many accidents (snow bridges...).

Good to know

The rebuilding of the building, initially planned to start on 5 October 2025, has been postponed to 2026: the hut therefore remains open until further notice. Payment in cash, bank cheque, ANCv holiday vouchers, no credit card. A room is open in winter, outside the guardian period, in a loft space in a separate building from the main chalet. No particular comfort except for a few mattresses and blankets (available, depending on the year, in varying quantities). No heating. Sleeping platforms occupy three-quarters of the available space. Warm clothing and a very good sleeping bag are essential in winter. Only a small window in the door, so very little light. No toilets available in winter. 10 places in winter. A shovel is available outside to clear snow from the access stairs if needed. A small shovel and a broom for cleaning inside the hut. Languages spoken: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish.
