From the hamlet of Chênevarie in the commune of Château-Bernard, head northwest along a well-marked yellow/green trail to find the refuge on the right.
Former barn converted into a refuge located in a clearing. The interior is quite dark as it has no windows. The insulation is fairly good. The front door leads into a large room containing only a table and two benches. Also present are two brooms, a shovel, two barbecue grills and a wheelbarrow. The back door leads to a wooden mezzanine used for sleeping, with space for a maximum of 5 people. A third broom is located there. There is no stove or fireplace for heating. There is no water nearby either. Both doors of the refuge open outward. Caution in winter if heavy snowfall is forecast.
