Shelter anchored near the Budden pass, Grandes Murailles. From the west and the [->2497], you must climb (SE) the Grandes Murailles glacier (crevasses!) until reaching the point marked 3266, below a promontory forming the WSW end of a rocky ridge descending from the Becca di Guin. Then go around it from the south and find a steeper ice bay heading ENE towards the Budden pass. This ice branch is in advanced ablation, meaning black and hard ice if the snow has melted. Finally, a slope of poor rock (possible rockfall) leads to the col depression. It will take 2h30/3h depending on conditions (PD+ / AD). From the east and the [->3059], heading NW, you navigate between ice ledges and almost rotten rock for at least 3h30 of uninspiring climbing (AD+ / D) over about 3h30/4h. Some guides indicate a "PD" difficulty, which is optimistic and somewhat adventurous...
Classic 1/2 metal barrel lined inside, equipped with 9 bunks with mattresses and (in principle) blankets. Water in the form of snow/ice.
