Guarded private mountain hut located in the Valle d'Aosta, managed by the Guides Alpine di Gressoney. It is situated in the municipality of Gressoney-La-Trinité.

There are several access routes, here is the one I took. From Gressoney-la-Trinité, a chairlift goes up to Punta Jolanda at 2240 m (otherwise, an additional 600 m of elevation gain...!). From there, a trail ascends to the NNE to Gabiet (ski lifts), then continues north, crosses a stream on a small bridge and follows its right bank, turning northwest, crossing another stream, before ascending due north while keeping at a distance a long rocky ridge (to the left of the ascending path), grassy terraces, schist slopes and scree, until reaching the snowfields that lead to the terrace where the hut is built (the Gnifetti hut can be seen 150 m higher). It takes about 5 hours from Punta Jolanda.
This hut, which offers 15 places in the winter room, is a highly recommended alternative to [->2066], which, although located 150 m higher in altitude, will better illustrate through the loud noises emanating from afar the disadvantages of its 300 places (!), a true barracks of the peaks on the routes of the southern side of the Lyskamm-Pyramid Vincent-Matterhorn chain. You are generally well received, in a quiet setting and, at the cost of 30 minutes less of real sleep, much more fit to set off early the next day... An ideal base for the aforementioned peaks, with the Lys pass being the central hub. The access to the latter, although easy, takes place (like all climbs here) on a large glacier, under the watchful eye of some large seracs on your right as you ascend. Draw your own conclusions. You can also stop here before heading to [->1489] 1100 m higher.
