Hut always open. Gas and cooking utensils available. Lighting available. Fountain in front of the hut (water not drinkable, must be boiled). Emergency radio or telephone present. This high-altitude bivouac is equipped with blankets, has 15 sleeping places with mattresses, a modern toilet with flush (operational from around noon when the sun heats the water source) and a fully equipped kitchen corner with utensils and plates. Gas cartridges and cooking devices are available on site (3 stoves), but all food must be brought up. The hut is located in an area covered by Swisscom and Sunrise mobile networks. CAS member: CHF 20.- / € 17.- CAS Youth Organization: CHF 13.- Non-members: CHF 24.- / € 20.- This hut is not intended for hikers but for mountaineers with appropriate equipment. Up to the bivouac, the route is marked in blue-white-blue from Arbenbach, with a rocky section equipped with chains (physically demanding over about 50 m), a rope may be useful for added safety. Beyond the bivouac, it is high-mountain terrain: ice axe, crampons and rope are mandatory (Arbengrat AD+). In winter, avalanche danger. Bivouac always open but difficult to access once snow has fallen (risk of avalanches). Languages spoken: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish.
