Access route is complicated and mainly off-trail (despite what the map indicates), and very exposed to avalanches. Be very careful, especially in case of snow. From the Peyrots parking lot (980m) south of Salau, take the track south for 30 minutes. At the second bend, after leaving the Léziou waterfall on the left, take a small trail to the left (1100m). Proceed through a forest where you leave a locked barn at 1173m on the right and follow the path in the forest. 1430m, handrail to cross an avalanche couloir still in the forest, tricky passage. Remember to gather wood when leaving the forest. 1570m, cable section to cross a dizzying ravine, stay skillful. Persistent snowfield (1820m) which should be bypassed from below. The trail finally heads towards the two waterfalls seen for a while, and leads you to the Clos (hollow) just above where the cabin is located.
Since 2020, this cabin is reserved for the shepherd in summer and closed the rest of the year. It can no longer serve as shelter for hikers. Note the presence of a very basic shelter at the bottom of the Clos against a large rock that can shelter two people in case of emergency.
