Along the cairned-marked trail between the PNRC refuge of Sega and the Alzu Plateau sheepfolds, just before the trail exits the forest to reach the sheepfold flat area: the shelter stands facing the ruins of the forest house (the latter indicated on some old maps, place name "L'Ombria di Latoli").

Good to know

Waterproof building, very cramped, still in fairly good condition (May 2019). Side-sleeping area with 3 foam mattresses and a fireplace. Water in the stream, about fifteen metres from the entrance. 08/2023: due to its dilapidated state, the entrance is blocked (blocked by a stick) - at your own risk... In case of emergency, it is preferable to take shelter in the nearby Alzu sheepfolds.
