Access via the cairned-marked trail that climbs the Castagnolu ravine, connecting the "Mare à Mare Nord" hiking trail to the Alzo plateau sheepfolds. The trail runs for a while on the right bank (East) of the Castagnolu stream and comes alongside a small rocky promontory where the cabin stands (barely visible). A trail fork a little higher leads to it.
Emergency shelter of 15 m², in poor condition (08/2023): drafts (door that sticks, cannot be fully closed or opened, gaps under the roof); roof largely watertight despite 2 or 3 holes; modest chimney (not tested); sleeping benches for 3 or 4 people, no mattresses; Costa stream 20 meters to the south; no GSM network. WARNING you are in a Strict Nature Reserve, a natural area with high biodiversity and highly sensitive to fires: use the chimney only in emergencies off-season (all fires prohibited by prefectural order in summer); do not cut trees or branches, do not collect dead wood (use only what is already on the "terrace" around the cabin).
