Small forest shelter ("refuge de Melo") adjacent to a forest fire defense cistern indicated on IGN map. On the edge of the good forest track (closed to traffic) that connects the Col de la Croix ("Bocca a Croce") to the Maison Forestière de Melo.
Status as of 08/2023: Small solid shelter usable in case of emergency: a fireplace (fire discouraged...), cramped space, limited sleeping possibilities, it is cluttered with various furniture and O.N.F. tools. A picnic table in front of the shelter. The door opens inward. Strict respect of the place is required. No reliable water point nearby; the nearby stream is sometimes dry, access to the DFCI cistern (stagnant water...) is prohibited.
