Different access routes are possible: from the Vallon de Saint Ruph (parking at the end of the forest road), from the chalets de la Servaz, from the Pas de l'Ours, from the Col d'Orgeval. The cabin is located at the edge of a track, in a bend, to the right of the path when ascending, about ten minutes from the passerelle des Rois.
"Grange" is the name shown on the IGN map, but you won’t find any kings here, and in any case, the comfort won’t be royal! A very basic shelter intended for emergency use only; no comfort, no insulation (see the photos), no door. The interior has no particular fittings except for a raised section made of wooden planks about 1.80 meters long that could serve as an improvised sleeping platform to avoid sleeping directly on the rough ground. One corner of the cabin has been taken over by an old ant colony... an abandoned anthill... they have also deserted the place? There is wood inside the cabin. For sleeping, it is advisable to go to the nearby Bonverdan refuge (1h to 1h30 away).
