Before coming, check access conditions, whether by car or on foot, from the valley or upstream mountaineering routes: recurring floods of streams lead to road cuts, parking flooding, disappearance of footbridges, etc. By car (the road is closed in winter shortly after Pelvoux, after the first heavy snowfall, and reopens in spring depending on snowmelt): From Vallouise (05290), follow the main road (D994) towards Pelvoux, cross the village, then continue on this winding road to the hamlet of Ailefroide, proceed to the Pré de Mme Carle (only one road in the valley bottom).
