The quickest route is to follow a path starting from the hamlet of La Merlière, on the heights of Vif. Other, more challenging and wild routes start from Le Sert de Vif or Le Crozet. All are marked in yellow but curiously lack signposts, which can make navigation a bit tricky.
Modest shelter where the interior consists of two small benches, a chair, a folding table, a broom, an old blanket, a gas heater that appears to be abandoned,... and the famous guestbook. A fountain with a basin intended for cattle is located about a hundred meters to the south. Please respect the area: grazing zone.
