Still valid in August 2026: Following the severe storms on 21 June 2024, access to the Vénéon valley is complicated, particularly with the ban on all traffic on the Bérarde road (RD530) from the Pré Clot hamlet (after the village of Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans). Free shuttle services are available on reservation from Bourg-d'Oisans to the combe de Pierre Noire between Les Étages and La Bérarde. Access to the Bérarde hamlet is strictly prohibited, including on foot; alternative hiking routes are provided. The Chalet Alpin is therefore closed until further notice. The trails in the valley have been affected to varying degrees by these storms. Bear in mind that the usual walking times and elevation gains may no longer apply and that the various guidebooks are therefore not reliable until further notice. Access by car to La Bérarde. End-of-road mountain hut; road closed in winter until the end of March. Access by public transport: From Grenoble, you must now take lines T73 or T75, then T77, changing at Bourg d'Oisans.
