This pastoral cabin was not yet listed as a shelter. It is now served by a forest-pastoral road whose last section was opened two years ago and ends here; note that it is prohibited to any vehicle other than forestry or pastoral ones beyond the barrier at Les Charmettes (1347 m). A good alternative to the Col de l'Arc cabin in case of a late ascent or poor conditions... you can reach it at least on snowshoes. A quick check to confirm that nothing is missing for the mountaineer! This cabin is occupied from June 15 to September 15/20 by a shepherd who left the place with his flock on Saturday, September 19, 2010. No axe, no saw. Water cut off in winter. Winter water supply possible from the stream 100 m below by taking the cabin access path. Caution! Since the renovation, only the living area is accessible, as the sleeping quarters are closed and reserved for livestock farmers. Take this into account.
