Access

Located just below the Col de Fort on the southern side. From Torgnon, allow 5 to 6 hours. Final ascent is steep. Route described in the link.

Good to know

No water available, except by melting snow if any remains. Toilet cabin nearby (at the col) but in ruins and unusable. There are actually only 8 bunk beds, but many more mattresses (90 cm wide). To reach 12 places (16 seems unrealistic), you would need to remove the table and benches and place the extra mattresses on the entire floor surface. Blankets are sufficient. For each bivouac in the area, bring coins for the CAI urn. Suggested price: 6€ per night + 3€ for gas per person.
